Another Purpose - It Would Revert To The Ownership
Of The Charles Pinckney Descendants. The Wetland
Was Filled And The Public Marketplace Was Completed
In 1806. At That Time - South Market Street That
Borders The Present Market Pavilions North Side Was
Created. Several Small Buildings Were Constructed
On The Present Day Hotel Site And Were Subsequently
Destroyed By Natural Occurrences. In 1938 The Final
Building Was Constructed. It Was Purchased In 1995
And Demolished To Make Way For The Market Pavilion
Hotels Opening In 2002. The Present Hotel Building
Was Constructed In The Grand Style Of The Same
1800s Architecture That Is Reflected Throughout The
City To This Day. Several Awards Have Been Issued
To The Hotel For Its Correct Depiction Of A Historic
